Us:
The
Green Hope Colombia Foundation
(GHC) , was founded in 2007, by
the Colombian - Japanese; Jorge Hirofumi Shigematsu.
Since
2007 GHC, has an exchange
of knowledge with different indigenous communities,
saw different problems and lack of presence
of the Colombian Government in the region. Having
several communities meetings in Tarapaca Road
¨The Kilometers¨ and Indigenous
Communities along the Amazon River, made a trusthful
and strong relationship with indigenous leaders
and shamans.
GHC
had a first social work
in the Colombian Amazon, were with the help
of the Colombian Air Force and Caracol
Social (Radio Station), and gave
6.000 Christmas presents to the children of
different indigenous communities.
In
2011, GHC
signed a cooperation agreement, to develop a
forest project with ForestEver /
Up2Green (France), this is a Reforestation
and Agroforestry project. They are looking to
recovery the damaged forest, and the sustainably
management of natural resources in the indigenous
communities; to achieve a better quality of
life and the protection of the Amazon.
They
have recovered several deforested areas in indigenous
communities: San Antonio de los Lagos (2011),
10.000 trees, Valencia (2012),
10.500 trees, Mocagua (2013),
7.000 trees, San José
Km6 (2014) 6.000 trees and
we began in 2015, a new reforestation project
in 2 Indigenous Communities; San José
del Río (2015) 5.000
trees and San Martín de Amacayacu (2015)
10.000 trees.
In
2012, GHC was contacted
by Starkey Hearing Foundation, directed by Mr.
Bill Austin to develop the project to build
a community center in Altos del Pino, Cazucá.
GHC supported Nukanti
Foundation for Children. The project
was visited also by the 1987 Oscar winner Actress,
Mrs. Marlee Matlin and the Former President
of the United States, Mr. Bill Clinton.
GHC
hope to strengthen their projects with International
Companies and the support of the Colombian Government.
In
2019, GHC
signed a partnership with KOYAMADA
INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (KIF)
in the United States of America, to become in
the future as Green
Hope USA (GHUSA) and develop
together proyects in Colombia and in the United
States. We are looking to strenghten our projects
with the support of the people of USA. KOYAMADA
INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (KIF)
is a not-for-profit-organization 501(C)(3).
GHC
belongs to CBD - United
Nations Decade on Biodiversity. As
one of the foundations committed in pursuit
of 2011 -2020 goals, in the protection of the
biodiversity and environment in the world.
The
Team:
Jorge Hirofumi Shigematsu
Mr.
Shigematsu is a Graphic Designer graduated
in Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in
Bogota in 1997, Colombia.
He
was a Graphic Designer in the Embassy
of Japan in Colombia, Telefonica,
Mercedes - Benz, Daimler Chrysler,
Leo Burnett and Marketing - Designer
of Terra Networks, BuenaVista International,
Columbia Tri Star Films and other
entertainment companies.
After
returning to Colombia, and being interested
in nature, animals and conservation
projects in Australia, focused his
career in wildlife protection. He
has worked in organizations for the
victims of war in Colombia.
He also joined the UNODC Anti-trafficking
of Human Beings team, (United Nations
Office on Drugs & Crime), and
they were awarded by the UN Secretary,
Mr Kofi Annan, as the best project
in the world.
He
founded Green Hope Colombia
in 2007.
Maikov Dumas
ForestEver
Director and Technical Director of
the Organization Up2Green Agroforestry
in France. He signed in 2011 with
GHC, an
agreement for international cooperation
for the development of agroforestry
projects in the Colombian Amazon.
He studied International Agro-Development
Engineering in 2007 in ISTOM, specializes
in forestry. His first experience
in the Research Institute of Tropical
Forestry in Malaysia, worked in forestry
in Cameroon and Democratic Republic
of Congo.
Founded ForestEver association to
educate and empower local communities
in the Amazon. He joined Up2green
Association to ensure the operational
control of the plantations Up2green
funded, including projects already
committed to developing and ForestEver.
Maikov develops a methodology for
monitoring and control the plantations
in relation to organic certification.

Angela Rendón
Born
in Colombia, Angela Rendon received
her B.A from Universidad Jorge Tadeo
Lozano, Bogota Colombia and a Masters
of Illustration from Istituto Europeo
di Design, Rome.
Moving
to NYC in 2000 to pursue her dream,
Angela has built her career as an
architectural lighting artist, production
manager and sales specialist in New
York City.
A lifelong humanitarian and conservationist,
Angela is committed to inspiring,
educating and empowering individuals
and communities to create sustainable
positive environmental and social
change.
Angela joins Green Hope Colombia to
help oversee operations, management
of projects and help grow development
and strategic partnerships with potential
donors and volunteers.
Veronica M. Kettenhofen
Veronica
M Kettenhofen is a native of Colombia-Brazil
South America and has lived in Denver,
Colorado since 2007.
Since 2010, Veronica has been a
video/photographer editor, working
individuality and Corporations.
She also volunteers for local organizations
in the area, such as Intermountain
Humain Society.
Her Tri-cultural background and
focus on community collaboration
has led her to a number of volunteer
opportunities and community leadership
roles.
Veronica’s passion for all
creatures of has her continually
looking for ways to preserve all
the earth has given us.
She is proud and excited to direct
her passion towards and to be a
partner of Green Hope Colombia with
Chain Reaction 4 The
Planet that was founded
in 2015 and supports our project
in the Amazon.
