Danielle Da Silva
Danielle
Khan Da Silva is the Founder
and CEO of PWB;
www.photographerswithoutborders.org
Her mixed ancestry
derives from Central/South Asia,
Europe and Micronesia. She is
an internationally-acclaimed
and award-winning photographer/director,
conservationist, scholar and
activist. She is also Co-Founder
of the Sumatran
Wildlife Sanctuary
and was the founding Co-Chair
of the Dandelion
Initiative.
She has earned a Honours Bachelor
of Science Degree in Conservation
Biology, Psychology and Global
Studies from the University
of Western Ontario, MSc. in
Environment and Development
from the London School of Economics.
Her work
was published by National
Geographic,
the United Nations,
The Economist,
and the book Cities,
Slums and Gender in the Global
South: Towards a Feminised Urban
Future.
As
a filmmaker Danielle has created
several documentaries, short
films, creator and director
of the PWB
TV web series.
Danielle
has worked with hundreds of
NGOs and several multilateral
organizations travelled to over
80 countries, and learned more
than 6 languages including English,
French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese,
some Swahili and Indonesian
(she can also read and write
in Arabic and is practicing
her USL).
She
is the recipient of the Canadian
Top
30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders
Award, and was
listed as number 2 in Matador
Network's Top 17 Female Photographers
of 2017 as well as their Top
5 Women Changing Media. She
has been nominated for the 2018
Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award;
she has also been nominated
for Canada's Top 100 Powerful
Women 2016, 2016 RBC Canadian
Women Entrepreneur Awards, and
the 2015 Women in Biz Social
Good Award.
Tiffany Kohl
Born
in Colorado, USA and living
in Bogotá, Colombia since
2006, Tiffany Kohl graduated
from Arizona State University
majoring in Marketing and International
Business, with a minor in Travel
and Tourism.
An
entrepreneur and event producer
(who is also a musician, astrologer,
reiki healer or travel companion
to Colombia's more remote regions
- all depending on the day)
her joy is connecting people
and cultures, working towards
a higher level of consciousness
and way of life.
Passionate
about being a change agent and
empowering local communities
to serve as leaders in environmental
conservation and social change,
she can most often be found
in Tierradentro,
Cauca working with the Nasa
indigenous communities.
Tiffany
joins Green
Hope Fund
managing regional projects in
Colombia focused on water conservation,
reforestation and education.
