KIF - Koyamada International Foundation

 

 

 

 

KIF (Koyamada International Foundation) is a United States 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Shin Koyamada (actor from The Last Samurai) and Nia Lyte (TED Talk Speaker) on March 10th, 2008.

 

KIF mission is to improve quality of people’s life by empowering global youth and women to reach their full potential and providing humanitarian aid and to promote global peace and sustainable development.

 

In 2004, Shin Koyamada personally begun his first charity works for several different nonprofit organizations, including Boys & Girls Club of America in Los Angeles area, Kickstart Kids in Houston area and Japan-America Societies throughout the U.S. for many years.

 

KIF is a partner of Green Hope Colombia (GHC) since 2019, the are working together in social and sustainable projects in the Amazon Forest after the fires and environment disaster ocurred in Brazil, Perú and Bolivia. KIF and GHC are developing also projects as Green Hope USA and Green Hope Japan.

Maikov Dumas

 

 

Maikov is theDirector of the Foundation ForestEver www.forestever.org and Technical Director of the Organization Up2Green Agroforestry in France. He signed in 2011 with Green Hope Colombia (GHC), an agreement for international cooperation for the development of agroforestry projects in the Colombian Amazon.

He studied International Agro-Development Engineering in 2007 in ISTOM, specializes in forestry. His first experience in the Research Institute of Tropical Forestry in Malaysia, worked in forestry in Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo.


Founded ForestEver association to educate and empower local communities in the Amazon. He joined Up2green Association to ensure the operational control of the plantations Up2green funded, including projects already committed to developing and ForestEver.


Maikov develops a methodology for monitoring and control the plantations in relation to organic certification.

 

 

Veronica M. Kettenhofen

 

 

Veronica M Kettenhofen is a native of Colombia-Brazil, South America and has lived in Denver, Colorado since 2007.



Since 2010, Veronica has been a video/photographer editor, working individuality and Corporations. She also volunteers for local organizations in the area, such as Intermountain Humain Society.



Her Tri-cultural background and focus on community collaboration has led her to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles.
Veronica’s passion for all creatures of has her continually looking for ways to preserve all the earth has given us.

Danielle Da Silva



Danielle Khan Da Silva is the Founder and CEO of PWB; www.photographerswithoutborders.org

Her mixed ancestry derives from Central/South Asia, Europe and Micronesia. She is an internationally-acclaimed and award-winning photographer/director, conservationist, scholar and activist. She is also Co-Founder of the Sumatran Wildlife Sanctuary and was the founding Co-Chair of the Dandelion Initiative.



She has earned a Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Conservation Biology, Psychology and Global Studies from the University of Western Ontario, MSc. in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics.
Her work was published by National Geographic, the United Nations, The Economist, and the book Cities, Slums and Gender in the Global South: Towards a Feminised Urban Future.

As a filmmaker Danielle has created several documentaries, short films, creator and director of the PWB TV web series.

Danielle has worked with hundreds of NGOs and several multilateral organizations travelled to over 80 countries, and learned more than 6 languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, some Swahili and Indonesian (she can also read and write in Arabic and is practicing her USL).

She is the recipient of the Canadian Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders Award, and was listed as number 2 in Matador Network's Top 17 Female Photographers of 2017 as well as their Top 5 Women Changing Media. She has been nominated for the 2018 Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award; she has also been nominated for Canada's Top 100 Powerful Women 2016, 2016 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards, and the 2015 Women in Biz Social Good Award.

 

 

 

Tiffany Kohl

 

 

 

 

Born in Colorado, USA and living in Bogotá, Colombia since 2006, Tiffany Kohl graduated from Arizona State University majoring in Marketing and International Business, with a minor in Travel and Tourism.

 

An entrepreneur and event producer (who is also a musician, astrologer, reiki healer or travel companion to Colombia's more remote regions - all depending on the day) her joy is connecting people and cultures, working towards a higher level of consciousness and way of life.

 

Passionate about being a change agent and empowering local communities to serve as leaders in environmental conservation and social change, she can most often be found in Tierradentro, Cauca working with the Nasa indigenous communities.

 

Tiffany joins Green Hope Fund managing regional projects in Colombia focused on water conservation, reforestation and education.

SEE WOMEN LATAM are directed by Glenda Monje Alvarado (Costa Rica); Diana Siguenza Ortiz (El Salvador) and Ivon More (Colombia).
